With a degree in Landscape Architecture from Washington State University, Garth Heggenes founded Pacific Landscapes of Whidbey Island in 1994. He worked hard to establish a business known for quality products, workmanship, and client communication.

In 2001, Chris Joselyn joined Pacific Landscapes as a Project Manager. He brings over 25 years of industry experience to the team.

Garth and his wife Molly opened Venture Out Nursery in 2017 to highlight how his services complement the natural landscapes of the island. The trails and tranquil setting, including mature trees, large pond, stream, rain garden, rockeries, and water wheel, offer inspiration and a sense of Garth’s approach to creating beautiful, natural spaces.

Nearly three decades later, Garth has outgrown his Ford Ranger pickup and small collection of hand tools but remains committed to the guiding principles that established Pacific Landscapes as the premiere landscape team on Whidbey Island.
